  1. Learn and develop skills in the maintenance, repair, and installation of substation equipment.
  2. Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting of substation equipment.
  3. Assist in the repair and replacement of faulty or damaged equipment.
  4. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety protocols and company standards.
  5. Participate in on-the-job training and educational programs to enhance knowledge and skills.
  6. Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
  7. Identify and report any potential hazards or safety concerns.
  8. Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment maintenance schedules.
  9. Attend team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvement.
  10. Follow all company policies and procedures.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: The Minimum Educational Requirement For A Substation Equipment Apprentice At Ppl Corp. Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Demonstrates A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge Necessary For The Job.

  • Technical Certification Or Degree: Candidates With Technical Certifications Or Degrees In Fields Such As Electrical Technology, Power Engineering, Or Related Fields Will Be Given Preference For The Substation Equipment Apprentice Position. This Indicates A Higher Level Of Technical Knowledge And Skills Required For The Job.

  • Previous Experience In Electrical Or Power Industry: Prior Experience Working In The Electrical Or Power Industry, Such As An Internship Or Entry-Level Position, Is Highly Preferred For This Role. This Shows That The Candidate Has Some Practical Knowledge And Understanding Of The Industry.

  • Physical Fitness And Ability To Work In Outdoor Conditions: Substation Equipment Apprentices Will Be Required To Work In Various Outdoor Conditions, Including Inclement Weather. Therefore, Candidates Must Be Physically Fit And Able To Perform The Physical Demands Of The Job, Such As Climbing Ladders And Carrying Heavy Equipment.

  • Strong Problem-Solving And Critical Thinking Skills: The Substation Equipment Apprentice Position Requires Individuals Who Are Able To Think Critically And Solve Problems Effectively. This Includes Troubleshooting Issues With Equipment And Identifying Potential Hazards. Candidates Should Possess Strong Problem-Solving Abilities And Attention To Detail.
