Indirect Buyer

Praxair is looking for an experienced Indirect Buyer to join our team and play a critical role in our purchasing process. The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. We are looking for a motivated individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and is able to prioritize tasks to ensure deadlines and cost objectives are met. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a purchasing role, with a strong knowledge of purchasing processes, including understanding of purchase orders, negotiation, and contract development. The successful candidate should have a degree in a related field such as supply chain management, business administration, finance, or accounting. Additionally, the successful candidate should have knowledge of SAP, strong analytical skills, and an understanding of competitive bidding processes. Responsibilities:

1. Source and purchase products, materials, and services in accordance with cost, quality, and delivery requirements.
2. Negotiate competitive contracts with suppliers and vendors.
3. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
4. Analyze and monitor current contracts and supplier performance.
5. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
6. Monitor and expedite delivery of purchased items.
7. Create and maintain accurate purchasing and inventory records.
8. Manage supplier contracts and agreements.
9. Research potential suppliers and vendors and evaluate their offerings.
10. Create and review purchase orders and requisitions.
11. Track and report on cost savings initiatives.
12. Participate in strategic planning and forecasting.
13. Develop and implement process improvements.
14. Ensure timely completion of all assigned tasks.
