
Sterile Processing Technician
At Presbyterian Healthcare Services, we are seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join our outstanding team. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will be responsible for decontaminating, cleaning, assembling, packaging, sterilizing and distributing surgical instruments and equipment.The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication and organizational skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care. We are looking for someone with a minimum of a high school diploma/GED and at least one year of prior experience in a Sterile Processing Technician role. Responsibilities of a Sterile Processing Technician:
- Decontaminate, clean, assemble, package, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and equipment according to established procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of instruments and equipment received and processed.
- Follow strict safety and health procedures while performing duties.
- Ensure all instruments and equipment are properly labeled and stored.
- Participate in quality assurance and infection control programs.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and procedures in the sterile processing field.
- Communicate with medical staff to ensure correct instruments and equipment are available.
- Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of sterile processing department.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
