- Provide direct patient care, including assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the supervising nurse.
- Help patients with mobility and transportation, including using assistive devices and transferring to and from beds or wheelchairs.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for both patients and staff, including proper infection control procedures.
- Assist with medical procedures, such as collecting specimens and administering medications under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare team members to ensure the best possible care for patients.
- Document patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner.
- Follow all policies and procedures of Prisma Health and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Attend required training and educational sessions to maintain and improve knowledge and skills.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and holistic care to patients.
- Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and patience in all interactions with patients and their families.
- Assist with patient and family education, including providing information on self-care and safety measures.
- Report any patient concerns or changes in condition to the supervising nurse.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times, reflecting the values of Prisma Health.
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations and guidelines for nursing assistants.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Cna At Prisma Health Should Have Completed A High School Education Or Earned A Ged.
Completion Of A State-Approved Cna Training Program: Prisma Health Requires Cnas To Have Completed A State-Approved Training Program, Which Includes Classroom Instruction And Hands-On Clinical Experience.
Active Cna Certification: Candidates Must Hold An Active Certified Nursing Assistant Certification In The State Of Employment. This Ensures That They Have Met All Necessary Requirements To Provide Safe And Effective Care.
Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: Prisma Health Requires Cnas To Hold A Current Bls Certification, Which Includes Training In Cpr And Other Life-Saving Techniques.
Physical And Emotional Stamina: Cnas At Prisma Health Must Be Physically And Emotionally Able To Provide Care For Patients, Which Can Include Lifting And Assisting With Daily Activities, As Well As Interacting With Patients Who May Be In Pain Or Experiencing Emotional Distress.
