  1. Provide expert genetic counseling services to patients and families, utilizing strong knowledge of genetic principles and technologies.
  2. Establish and maintain a positive and supportive relationship with patients and families, ensuring their comfort and understanding throughout the counseling process.
  3. Conduct thorough assessments of patients' medical and family history to identify potential genetic risks and develop appropriate counseling plans.
  4. Communicate complex genetic information in a clear and empathetic manner, ensuring patients and families have a full understanding of their options and potential outcomes.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians and geneticists, to provide comprehensive care and treatment plans for patients.
  6. Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements and research in the field of genetics, and incorporate this knowledge into counseling sessions and patient care.
  7. Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, including assessments, counseling sessions, and treatment plans.
  8. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards related to genetic counseling, including patient confidentiality and informed consent.
  9. Participate in team meetings and case conferences to discuss patient care and progress.
  10. Collaborate with community organizations and support groups to provide resources and support for patients and families affected by genetic conditions.
  11. Continuously assess and improve counseling techniques and strategies to provide the best possible care for patients.
  12. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current in the field of genetics and genetic counseling.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Genetic Counseling Or Related Field From An Accredited Program.

  • Board Certification From The American Board Of Genetic Counseling (Abgc) Or American Board Of Medical Genetics (Abmg).

  • Strong Knowledge Of Genetics, Hereditary Diseases, And Genetic Testing Technologies.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Educate And Counsel Patients And Their Families.

  • Experience In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In A Healthcare System, And Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team.
