My name is James Maguire and I just graduated Cum Laude from Xavier University in Cincinnati with a degree in finance and an economics minor. I have worked for Home Depot as a Category Analytics intern making dashboards with over 18 billion dollars in spend, commodity, and contract data across the company. I also worked as a financial advising apprentice at a small financial service company ($750 Million in assets under management) called Rosselot Financial Group. Finally, I worked 4 years as a student ambassador at Xavier University giving tours of campus and reaching out to potential high school students.

I built out a dashboard with over 18 billion dollars in spend, commodity, and contract data across the company. Another responsibility of mine was to prepare and create visuals for Home Depot’s spend and combined it with commodity prices to help Home Depot negotiate better deals with vendors. Finally, I conceptualized macroeconomic trends happening within certain commodities and how Home Depot has spent in over 100 different categories that apply to a commodity over certain time periods

Category Analytics Intern

I helped develop with Financial Advisors reports for clients to create their investment portfolios and long-term strategies. One of my biggest projects had me spearhead moving $500 million in assets of clients’ accounts from Lifeview to Rosselot’s new wealth reporting system Black Diamond.

Financial Advising Apprentice

I educated visitors about campus life, history, traditions, and achievements through supporting the Student Life & Leadership departments and conducting campus tours. I also served as a liaison for the university at high school recruitment events.
