- Assess and manage auto damage claims for customers who have experienced a catastrophic event.
- Provide exceptional customer service to policyholders during a difficult and stressful time.
- Utilize knowledge of insurance industry and auto damage claims to accurately evaluate and process claims.
- Communicate with customers, agents, and other parties involved in the claims process to provide updates and address any questions or concerns.
- Document all claim information and maintain accurate and organized records.
- Review and analyze policy coverage and determine appropriate settlements.
- Negotiate settlements with policyholders and third parties in accordance with company guidelines.
- Collaborate with other departments and team members to ensure timely and efficient claim resolution.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, laws, and regulations related to auto damage claims.
- Remain calm and professional in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
- Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of claim handling.

Extensive Experience In Auto Damage Assessment: Candidates For This Position Should Possess A Thorough Understanding Of Auto Body Repair Processes, Including Knowledge Of Common Types Of Damage And Repair Techniques. Previous Experience In A Similar Role, Such As An Auto Body Technician Or Appraiser, Is Highly Desirable.
Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills: As A Catastrophe Claims Adjuster, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Communicating With Customers Who Have Experienced Significant Damage To Their Vehicles. They Should Have Excellent Interpersonal Skills And The Ability To Empathize With Customers While Also Effectively Explaining The Claims Process.
Knowledge Of Insurance Policies And Regulations: A Successful Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Insurance Policies And Regulations, Particularly As They Relate To Auto Claims. This Includes Knowledge Of State-Specific Insurance Laws And Regulations, As Well As A Familiarity With Progressive's Policies And Procedures.
Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced, High-Pressure Environment: Catastrophe Claims Adjusters Must Be Able To Handle A High Volume Of Claims In A Fast-Paced And Often Stressful Environment. They Should Be Able To Multitask, Prioritize Tasks, And Meet Tight Deadlines While Maintaining A High Level Of Accuracy And Attention To Detail.
Flexibility And Adaptability: This Role May Require The Adjuster To Travel To Disaster Areas And Work Long Hours In Order To Handle A Surge Of Claims. Candidates Should Be Able To Adapt To Changing Circumstances And Work Effectively In A Variety Of Locations And Situations. They Should Also Be Comfortable With Using Technology And Mobile Devices To Complete Tasks While In The Field.
