- Design and implement storage infrastructure solutions to meet the needs of the organization.
- Configure and maintain SAN and backup systems to ensure high availability and data protection.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to storage infrastructure, including performance and capacity.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in storage engineering to make recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with other members of the IT team to integrate storage solutions with other systems and applications.
- Conduct regular audits and performance monitoring of storage systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Develop and maintain documentation for storage infrastructure, including procedures and policies.
- Proactively identify and address potential risks and vulnerabilities in the storage environment.
- Lead and mentor junior storage engineers, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders to understand their storage needs and provide solutions to meet those needs.
- Collaborate with vendors to evaluate and implement new storage technologies.
- Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements related to storage systems.
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide support outside of normal business hours.
- Continuously identify and implement improvements to streamline storage processes and improve efficiency.
- Represent Publix Super Markets as a storage engineering expert in meetings and discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
Extensive Experience In San And Backup Engineering: The Senior Storage Engineer Should Have At Least 5-7 Years Of Experience In Designing, Implementing And Managing San And Backup Solutions In A Large-Scale Enterprise Environment.
Strong Technical Knowledge Of Storage And Backup Technologies: The Candidate Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Storage Area Networks (San), Network-Attached Storage (Nas), And Backup And Recovery Systems Such As Ibm Spectrum Protect, Commvault, Or Veritas Netbackup.
Expertise In Virtualization And Cloud Storage: As Publix Super Markets Continues To Expand Its Use Of Virtualization And Cloud Technologies, The Senior Storage Engineer Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Virtual Storage And Cloud Storage Solutions, Such As Vmware Vsan And Aws S3.
Proven Project Management Skills: The Role Of A Senior Storage Engineer Also Involves Project Management, So The Candidate Should Have Experience In Leading And Delivering Storage And Backup Projects On Time And Within Budget.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Senior Storage Engineer Will Work Closely With Cross-Functional Teams, Including Other It Teams, Business Units, And Vendors. Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Effectively Collaborating And Managing Relationships With These Stakeholders.
