Welcome to Purdue University's mascot team! We are currently seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic and passionate individual to join our team as the Student - Leo the Lion Mascot. As the face of Purdue University, Leo the Lion represents our school spirit, pride and tradition at various events and activities throughout the year. We are looking for a dedicated student who embodies the characteristics of a true Boilermaker and is ready to roar with pride and energy. If you are outgoing, spirited, and love to entertain, we want you to join us as the one and only Leo the Lion!
- Serve as the official Purdue University mascot, Leo the Lion, at various events and activities throughout the year.
- Engage and interact with fans, students, and community members in a positive and enthusiastic manner.
- Represent the university with pride and uphold the traditions and values of Purdue University.
- Maintain a high level of energy and enthusiasm while in costume for extended periods of time.
- Attend mascot rehearsals and trainings to ensure consistency and quality in performances.
- Collaborate with the mascot team to plan and execute creative and engaging routines and stunts.
- Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all individuals at events and activities.
- Serve as a brand ambassador for Purdue University and promote school spirit.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while performing as Leo the Lion.
- Maintain the cleanliness and proper care of the mascot costume and accompanying props.
- Participate in community service events and outreach programs as the Purdue University mascot.
- Attend regular meetings with the mascot team to discuss upcoming events, performances, and new ideas.
- Continuously strive to improve and enhance the Leo the Lion performance and character.
- Uphold a positive and professional image at all times while representing Purdue University.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the mascot team and university staff to ensure successful events and performances.
Demonstrated Experience As A Mascot Performer: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Previous Experience Performing As A Mascot, Either In A Professional Or Amateur Setting.
Strong Physical Fitness And Endurance: As The Leo The Lion Mascot, The Student Will Be Required To Wear A Heavy Costume And Perform Energetic Routines For Extended Periods Of Time.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Mascot Will Be Interacting With A Diverse Range Of Individuals, Including Students, Faculty, Staff, And Community Members. Therefore, Strong Communication Skills And The Ability To Engage With Others In A Positive And Enthusiastic Manner Are Essential.
Enthusiasm And School Spirit: The Primary Purpose Of The Leo The Lion Mascot Is To Represent Purdue University And Boost School Spirit At Various Events. The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Deep Love For The University And A Contagious Enthusiasm That Can Energize Crowds.
Availability And Commitment: Being The Leo The Lion Mascot Requires A Significant Time Commitment, Including Attending Games, Events, And Appearances Both On And Off-Campus. The Ideal Candidate Should Be Able To Commit To A Flexible Schedule And Be Available For Evening And Weekend Events.
