- Develop and implement Safety Management Systems (SMS) for Regional Transportation District.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of current safety practices and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to establish and maintain a culture of safety.
- Provide training and education to employees on safety protocols and procedures.
- Monitor and analyze safety data to identify trends and implement preventative measures.
- Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and regulatory changes to continuously improve the SMS program.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for safety-related inquiries and concerns.
- Communicate and report on safety performance and progress to management and stakeholders.
- Conduct investigations into safety incidents and develop corrective action plans.
- Collaborate with external agencies and partners to ensure compliance and alignment with safety standards.
- Develop and maintain relationships with safety professionals and organizations to stay informed and share knowledge.

Knowledge Of Safety Regulations: A Successful Candidate For This Position Should Possess A Strong Understanding Of Safety Regulations And Standards, Particularly Those Related To Transportation And Public Transit.
Experience In Sms Program Development: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Developing And Implementing Safety Management Systems In A Transportation Setting, Preferably In A Similar Organization.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: This Role Requires The Ability To Analyze Complex Safety Data, Identify Potential Hazards And Risks, And Develop Effective Solutions To Mitigate Them. Strong Critical Thinking And Problem-Solving Skills Are Essential.
