- Safely operate light rail and commuter trains according to established schedules and routes.
- Monitor train operations and ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of train equipment and report any issues or defects.
- Communicate effectively with passengers and provide exceptional customer service at all times.
- Respond promptly and professionally to any emergency situations or service disruptions.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance while representing RTD.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to attendance, punctuality, and safety.
- Collaborate with other train operators and transportation staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Utilize electronic and manual systems to track train movements and maintain accurate records.
- Keep up-to-date on all training and certifications required for train operation.
- Continuously assess and improve personal performance to ensure efficient and effective train operations.
- Assist passengers with boarding and exiting trains, including those with special needs.
- Report any issues or concerns with train operations, equipment, or passenger behavior to superiors.
- Attend meetings and trainings as required by RTD.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while representing RTD and interacting with passengers, colleagues, and superiors.
Possession Of A Valid Commercial Driver's License (Cdl) With Passenger Endorsement
Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience Operating Trains Or Other Large Vehicles
Knowledge Of Local And Federal Safety Regulations Related To Train Operations
Ability To Work A Flexible Schedule, Including Weekends And Holidays
Strong Communication And Decision-Making Skills To Effectively Communicate With Passengers And Respond To Emergency Situations.
