  1. Develop and maintain safety assurance and certification procedures for all RTD transit operations.
  2. Monitor and assess safety performance and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  3. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify any potential hazards or non-compliance issues.
  4. Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to implement safety policies and procedures.
  5. Stay up-to-date on all safety regulations and requirements, and ensure RTD operations are in compliance.
  6. Investigate and report any safety incidents or accidents, and develop corrective action plans to prevent future occurrences.
  7. Coordinate and conduct safety training for employees, including new hire orientation and ongoing safety education.
  8. Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and participate in safety audits and inspections.
  9. Analyze data and trends to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations to enhance safety and compliance.
  10. Communicate safety updates and changes to management and employees, and ensure understanding and adherence to new policies and procedures.
  11. Act as a point of contact for any safety-related inquiries or concerns from employees, customers, or external agencies.
  12. Participate in the development and implementation of emergency preparedness plans and procedures.
  13. Serve as a safety advocate and champion within the organization, promoting a culture of safety and compliance.
  14. Assist in the development of the safety budget and monitor expenses related to safety assurance and certification.
  15. Represent RTD at safety conferences and events, and stay informed on industry best practices and trends.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Engineering, Transportation, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Safety Assurance And Certification In The Transit Industry.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of Federal Regulations And Industry Standards Related To Transit Safety.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Identify And Mitigate Safety Risks.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Various Stakeholders And Lead Safety Training Programs.
