Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Marine Engineer to join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet. As a key member of our engineering department, you will have the opportunity to work on state-of-the-art vessels and use your expertise to contribute to the success of our company.   1. Maintain and repair all mechanical and electrical systems on board our ships, including engines, generators, propulsion systems, and auxiliary equipment.
  2. Conduct regular inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
  3. Troubleshoot and diagnose any mechanical or electrical issues that may arise and implement timely and effective solutions.
  4. Collaborate with other members of the engineering team to develop and implement maintenance and repair schedules.
  5. Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including equipment logs and work orders.
  6. Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations, including adherence to established protocols for waste management and pollution prevention.
  7. Monitor and control fuel consumption and optimize engine performance to reduce costs and minimize the impact on the marine environment.
  8. Train and supervise junior engineering staff and provide guidance and support as needed.
  9. Coordinate with other departments on board, such as Deck and Hotel Operations, to ensure smooth operation of the vessel.
  10. Stay current with industry developments and advancements in marine technology and incorporate them into daily operations where applicable.
  11. Implement and follow established emergency procedures and protocols in case of any unexpected events or emergencies on board.
  12. Act as a brand ambassador for Royal Caribbean Cruises and provide exceptional customer service to guests and fellow crew members.
  13. Continuously monitor and improve the efficiency and performance of all engineering systems to support the company's commitment to sustainability and environmental protection.
  14. Communicate effectively with the shore-side technical support team to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that require external expertise.
  15. Adhere to company policies and standards at all times and maintain a professional and respectful working relationship with colleagues and superiors.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Marine Engineering, Preferably In The Cruise Industry.

  • Knowledge Of International Maritime Regulations And Safety Standards.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Marine Engineering Or A Related Field.

  • Proficiency In Technical Skills Such As Ship Design, Propulsion Systems, And Navigation.

  • Strong Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Work Well In A Team Environment.
