Job Description

Welcome aboard the Royal Caribbean team! We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Marine Engineer to join our talented crew and help us provide exceptional experiences for our guests. As a Marine Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our state-of-the-art cruise ships. Your expertise in ship systems, machinery, and equipment will be vital in maintaining the highest standards of performance and safety at sea.   1. Perform regular maintenance and repairs on ship systems, machinery, and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  2. Monitor and troubleshoot any technical issues on the ship, and promptly address and resolve them in a timely manner.
  3. Conduct routine inspections and tests to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
  4. Collaborate with other crew members and departments to coordinate maintenance and repair schedules, and ensure minimal disruption to guest experiences.
  5. Train and supervise other crew members in proper maintenance and operation of ship systems and equipment.
  6. Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, and report any major issues or concerns to superiors.
  7. Continuously update and maintain technical knowledge and skills to stay current with industry advancements and best practices.
  8. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for self and others.
  9. Act as a point of contact for guests regarding any technical issues or concerns, and provide efficient and friendly customer service.
  10. Collaborate with shore-based marine engineers and suppliers to order necessary parts and equipment for maintenance and repairs.
  11. Adhere to strict environmental regulations and practices to ensure the preservation of the marine environment.
  12. Participate in emergency drills and exercises to ensure readiness in the event of a crisis.
  13. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while representing the company and providing exceptional service to guests.
  14. Work flexible hours and be on call for emergency situations as needed.
  15. Embody the company's values and mission, and maintain a high level of integrity and professionalism at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Marine Engineering Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Marine Engineering, Preferably In The Cruise Industry.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of Marine Propulsion Systems, Electrical Systems, And Shipboard Machinery.

  • Familiarity With International Maritime Regulations, Safety Protocols, And Environmental Standards.

  • Excellent Problem-Solving And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively In A Team Environment.
