
Safety Officer
Welcome to Royal Caribbean Cruises! We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Safety Officer to join our team and help ensure the safety and well-being of our guests and crew. As a Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our high standards of safety and security on board our ships. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and has a strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures. - Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of all areas of the ship to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and promote a safe working and living environment for guests and crew members.
- Conduct safety training and drills for all crew members to ensure they are aware of emergency procedures and can respond effectively in case of an emergency.
- Investigate any safety incidents or accidents and provide thorough reports to management, including recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and housekeeping, to ensure all safety equipment and procedures are properly maintained and followed.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all safety regulations and requirements set by international maritime organizations and government agencies.
- Communicate safety updates and information to all crew members and guests to promote awareness and compliance.
- Monitor and analyze safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Act as a liaison between the company and regulatory bodies during safety inspections and audits.
- Prepare and maintain all necessary safety documentation and records.
- Conduct safety orientations for new crew members and provide ongoing safety training for all employees.
- Respond to and resolve any safety-related concerns or complaints from guests or crew members.
- Coordinate emergency response procedures and drills with local authorities at various ports of call.
- Stay informed about the latest safety technology and procedures and make recommendations for their implementation.
- Serve as a role model for safety by following all safety protocols and encouraging others to do the same.
Bachelor's Degree In Occupational Health And Safety, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In A Safety Role, Preferably In The Maritime Or Hospitality Industry.
Knowledge Of International Maritime Safety Regulations And Standards, Such As Solas And Ism.
Certification In Occupational Health And Safety (E.g. Nebosh) Or Equivalent.
Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Conduct Safety Training And Investigations.
