Welcome to the MGSA Department of Theater at Rutgers University! We are currently seeking talented and passionate individuals to join our team as faculty members for the Fall 2025 semester.   1. Develop and teach courses in various areas of theater, including acting, directing, playwriting, design, and technical production.
  2. Create and implement curriculum that aligns with the department's mission and goals.
  3. Mentor and advise students on their academic and professional development.
  4. Conduct research and stay current with industry trends and developments in the field of theater.
  5. Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the overall growth and success of the department.
  6. Collaborate with other faculty members to create interdisciplinary projects and initiatives.
  7. Serve on departmental and university committees as needed.
  8. Foster an inclusive and welcoming environment for students of all backgrounds, cultures, and identities.
  9. Encourage and support students in pursuing internships, professional opportunities, and other forms of experiential learning.
  10. Engage in professional development activities to enhance teaching methods and knowledge of the theater industry.
  11. Participate in recruitment and retention efforts to attract and retain diverse and talented students.
  12. Act as a positive role model and mentor for students, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and compassion.
  13. Contribute to the department's efforts in community outreach and engagement.
  14. Maintain a strong commitment to academic excellence and uphold the department's standards of teaching and scholarship.

Job Qualifications
  • A Master's Degree In Theater Or A Related Field, With A Specialization In A Specific Area Such As Acting, Directing, Design, Or Production Management.

  • A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Teaching Experience At The College Level, With A Strong Record Of Successful Instruction And Mentorship Of Undergraduate And Graduate Students.

  • Demonstrated Expertise In Theatrical Production, With Experience In Directing, Designing, Or Producing Professional-Level Productions.

  • A Strong Record Of Scholarly Research And Publication In The Field Of Theater, With A Focus On Contemporary And Diverse Perspectives.

  • A Commitment To Promoting Diversity, Equity, And Inclusion In The Theater Department And The Broader University Community, And Experience Working With Diverse Student Populations.
