- Operate a commercial motor vehicle in a safe and efficient manner, following all traffic laws and company policies.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in optimal working condition.
- Deliver freight to various locations within a designated regional area, meeting all delivery deadlines.
- Interact professionally with customers, providing excellent customer service and representing the company in a positive manner.
- Maintain accurate records of hours driven, miles traveled, and freight delivered.
- Adhere to all company and Department of Transportation regulations and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and other team members to coordinate delivery schedules and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
- Ensure that freight is loaded, secured, and unloaded properly, following all safety protocols.
- Keep the truck clean and well-maintained, reporting any mechanical issues to the appropriate parties.
- Act as a brand ambassador for Ryder System, promoting the company's values and commitment to excellence.
- Attend regular safety and training meetings to stay up-to-date on company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
