Principal Data Analyst
San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) is looking for an experienced data analyst to join our team as a Principal Data Analyst. We are seeking a creative problem-solver with strong analytical and communication skills who is committed to delivering accurate and insightful data to our customers and stakeholders. As a Principal Data Analyst, you will use your expertise to develop and maintain data structures, interpret large datasets, and create reports and visualizations to drive organizational decisions.The successful candidate will possess a solid foundation in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis, as well as a commitment to staying abreast of emerging trends and technologies in the data analytics field. You will be expected to be a team player with a collaborative attitude, as well as have strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate results to stakeholders.Required qualifications include:• Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as mathematics, statistics, computer science, or economics• 5+ years of experience in data analysis and statistical modeling• Proven experience with data manipulation, analysis, and visualization tools such as SAS, R, or Python• Knowledge of database concepts and experience in working with large datasets• Ability to work independently and collaboratively to solve problems• Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsIf you have the technical and interpersonal skills and a drive to provide accurate and actionable data insights, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain data structures for SDG&E customers and stakeholders.
- Interpret large datasets and create reports and visualizations to drive organizational decisions.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in the data analytics field.
- Collaborate with other data analysts and stakeholders to solve problems.
- Communicate results to stakeholders effectively.
- Utilize data manipulation, analysis, and visualization tools such as SAS, R, and Python.
- Work with large datasets and database concepts.

- Provide accurate and actionable data insights.
