Job Description

Santander Bank N.A is looking for an experienced, passionate, and dedicated Global Transaction Banking Sr Legal Counsel to join our team. The successful candidate will be a critical part of the legal team, responsible for providing legal advice and support to the Global Transaction Banking business.This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic attorney to join a dynamic team and have a positive impact on the Bank’s objectives. The ideal candidate must possess strong legal and technical knowledge, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across multiple departments.We are seeking a candidate with a law degree, current bar admission, and at least 5 years of experience serving as a lawyer for a financial institution. Additionally, the ideal candidate should have experience in consumer banking, commercial banking, and global transaction banking. The successful candidate will also have a thorough understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and industry practices.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide legal advice and support to the Global Transaction Banking business.
  2. Collaborate effectively with colleagues across multiple departments.
  3. Maintain thorough understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and industry practices.
  4. Prepare legal documents and contracts.
  5. Research and analyze legal issues.
  6. Monitor changes in relevant legislation and advise management on its impact.
  7. Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  8. Represent the Bank in court proceedings.
  9. Develop and maintain relationships with external legal counsel.
  10. Provide legal training to staff members as needed.
