
Early Childhood Literacy Specialist
Scholastic is looking for an experienced and passionate Early Childhood Literacy Specialist to join our team in creating a brighter future for all children. The Early Childhood Literacy Specialist will be responsible for developing and delivering early childhood literacy services in order to promote reading and writing success among young children.To be successful in this role, you should have a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, and experience in early childhood literacy instruction. You should also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to developing and maintaining strong relationships with families and community partners. Additionally, strong technical skills, including experience with digital literacy applications and platforms, would be a plus. Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver early childhood literacy services to promote reading and writing success among young children.
- Build and maintain relationships with families and external partners.
- Assist in creating and implementing literacy initiatives, such as digital literacy applications and platforms, to engage children in reading and learning.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure successful implementation of literacy initiatives and services.
- Develop and facilitate professional development and training sessions for teachers.
- Monitor the progress of students and provide support as needed.
- Collect and analyze data to ensure program effectiveness.
- Stay current on early childhood literacy research and best practices.
Strong Written And Verbal Communication Skills
Bachelor's Degree In Early Childhood Education Or Related Field
Knowledge Of Educational Technology And Digital Applications
Professional Experience In Early Childhood And/Or Literacy
Understanding Of Different Learning Styles And Abilities
Familiarity With Developmentally Appropriate Curriculum
