Job Description

Scholastic is seeking an experienced and passionate Literacy Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to help shape the future of literacy by providing guidance, training, and support to educators across the country. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of literacy instruction, a commitment to quality, and a strong ability to collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders. To be successful in this role, you must have a master’s degree in literacy, education, or a related field, as well as at least five years of experience teaching literacy in an elementary, middle, or high school setting. In addition, you should be a creative problem solver with excellent communication and organizational skills, and a passion for making a difference in the lives of students. Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement literacy instruction programs for educators
  2. Provide training and support to teachers on literacy instruction
  3. Foster collaboration with educators, administrators, and other stakeholders
  4. Evaluate and make recommendations to improve literacy instruction
  5. Monitor and assess student outcomes in literacy instruction
  6. Share best practices in literacy instruction with educators
  7. Design and deliver professional development sessions
  8. Develop resources for educators
  9. Research and analyze current trends and innovations in literacy instruction
  10. Remain up-to-date with industry developments and research
