Zoological Specialist

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement animal care and husbandry plans for a variety of species
2. Monitor and assess animal health and welfare
3. Conduct research and ensure that new procedures are in line with animal welfare regulations
4. Design and implement enrichment activities that promote positive animal behavior and cognitive development
5. Provide educational presentations to guests and staff members on animal behavior, nutrition, and conservation
6. Monitor animal behavior and create an environment that is safe for animals and guests
7. Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with veterinary staff and external organizations
8. Monitor food and medication for animals
9. Perform routine maintenance of facilities, such as cleaning, checking water and food supplies, and inspecting animal enclosures
10. Maintain records of animal activity, veterinary visits, and any other pertinent information
