  1. Provide live play-by-play coverage of sporting events with accuracy and attention to detail.
  2. Operate broadcasting equipment and ensure smooth transitions between play-by-play and commercial breaks.
  3. Monitor and adjust audio levels to ensure high-quality sound for listeners.
  4. Collaborate with producers and on-air talent to ensure a seamless broadcast.
  5. Research and stay up-to-date on sports teams, players, and current events.
  6. Troubleshoot technical issues and respond quickly to unexpected changes during live broadcasts.
  7. Follow station guidelines and regulations to ensure compliance with broadcasting standards.
  8. Prepare and maintain necessary paperwork and reports related to broadcasts.
  9. Stay organized and on schedule to ensure timely start and end of broadcasts.
  10. Maintain a professional and enthusiastic demeanor while on-air.
  11. Adapt to different sports and broadcasting styles, including the ability to switch between radio and television broadcasts.
  12. Continuously strive to improve technical skills and stay updated on industry trends and advancements.
  13. Manage and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  14. Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
  15. Represent Sirius XM Radio in a professional and positive manner at all times.

Job Qualifications

  • Experience In Operating Audio Equipment: A Play-By-Play Board Operator At Sirius Xm Radio Should Have Prior Experience In Operating Audio Equipment, Including Mixing Boards, Microphones, And Other Recording Devices. This Will Ensure A Smooth And Professional Broadcast.

  • Knowledge Of Sports And Broadcasting: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Various Sports And Their Rules, As Well As Experience In Sports Broadcasting. This Will Enable Them To Accurately And Effectively Describe The Action During A Live Game.

  • Strong Communication Skills: The Play-By-Play Board Operator Will Be Responsible For Relaying Information To The On-Air Talent And Coordinating With Producers. Excellent Communication Skills Are Essential To Ensure A Seamless Broadcast And To Effectively Convey Information.

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: Sports Games Can Be Fast-Paced And Unpredictable, And The Play-By-Play Board Operator Must Be Able To Keep Up With The Action. They Should Be Able To Think Quickly And Make Decisions Under Pressure To Ensure A Successful Broadcast.

  • Attention To Detail: The Play-By-Play Board Operator Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail To Ensure That All Audio Levels, Sound Effects, And Commercials Are Played At The Correct Times. This Role Requires A High Level Of Precision And Accuracy To Maintain The Quality Of The Broadcast.
