Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist to join the team at SoCalGas. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GIS, a passion for data analysis, and a commitment to delivering high quality results.The successful applicant will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and analyzing complex geospatial data sets. They must be highly organized and able to work independently on projects.The ideal candidate for this position will have a bachelor’s degree in geography, GIS, or a related field, with at least two years of experience in GIS and related technologies. In addition, they must be proficient in a variety of GIS software, have excellent problem-solving skills, and be able to work collaboratively with a diverse team. An ability to communicate clearly and effectively is also essential.We are looking for an individual who is passionate about their work and dedicated to providing our customers with the highest quality service. Responsibilities:

  • Create, maintain, and analyze complex geospatial data sets
  • Work independently on projects related to GIS
  • Develop applications, databases, and tools to support GIS projects
  • Utilize GIS software to develop maps and analyze data
  • Manage GIS projects from conception to completion
  • Work collaboratively with a diverse team to achieve desired outcomes
  • Communicate results and progress of GIS projects to stakeholders
  • Ensure data accuracy and quality control
  • Design and develop data models and other GIS related documents
  • Provide technical support for GIS applications and tools
