Design and develop software applications that meet the needs and requirements of Southern Company's business operations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
Perform thorough analysis and testing to ensure the quality and functionality of software applications.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or bugs in a timely and efficient manner.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in technology to continuously improve and optimize software applications.
Document and maintain accurate records of software development processes and updates.
Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to provide updates and progress reports.
Participate in regular meetings and brainstorming sessions to identify new opportunities for software development.
Proactively identify and address potential risks or roadblocks to ensure project success.
Continuously improve and optimize existing software applications to enhance overall performance and user experience.
Collaborate with other departments, such as IT and customer support, to provide technical support and assistance as needed.
Train and mentor junior team members to enhance their technical skills and knowledge.
Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as industry standard best practices, for software development and security.
Act as a subject matter expert for software applications and provide guidance and support to other teams within the organization.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree In Engineering: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Engineering, Such As Electrical, Mechanical, Or Computer Engineering, Is Required For An Application Engineer Position At Southern Company. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Strong Foundation In Engineering Principles And Can Apply Them To Designing And Troubleshooting Complex Systems.
Technical Knowledge And Expertise: An Application Engineer At Southern Company Must Have A Deep Understanding Of The Technical Aspects Of The Company's Products And Services. This Includes Knowledge Of Software And Hardware Systems, Programming Languages, And Industry Standards.
Problem-Solving Skills: As An Application Engineer, One Must Be Able To Identify And Solve Technical Problems Efficiently And Effectively. This Requires Strong Critical Thinking And Analytical Abilities, As Well As The Ability To Think Outside The Box To Find Innovative Solutions.
