Assistant Produce Manager

- Collaborate with the Produce Manager to develop and implement strategies for maximizing sales and profitability in the produce department.
- Supervise and train produce department employees on product knowledge, customer service, and merchandising.
- Ensure that all produce displays are visually appealing, well-stocked, and maintained according to company standards.
- Order and receive produce shipments, ensuring accurate inventory levels and quality control.
- Monitor and analyze sales data to identify trends and make adjustments to meet customer demand.
- Educate customers on the benefits of fresh produce and assist them in making informed purchasing decisions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper storage and rotation of produce.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper handling and labeling of produce.
- Assist in creating and implementing promotional and marketing strategies to increase sales and customer engagement.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends, new products, and competitor offerings.
- Assist in conducting performance evaluations and providing feedback to produce department employees.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient store operations.

Knowledge Of Produce: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Different Types Of Produce, Their Seasonality, And How To Properly Handle And Store Them.
Previous Experience: Previous Experience Working With Produce, Preferably In A Retail Or Grocery Setting, Is Highly Desirable For This Role. This Could Include Experience As A Produce Clerk Or Assistant Manager.
Leadership Skills: As An Assistant Produce Manager, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Overseeing A Team Of Produce Clerks And Ensuring They Are Properly Trained And Performing Their Duties Effectively. Strong Leadership Skills Are Necessary For Success In This Position.
Customer Service Skills: The Assistant Produce Manager Will Interact With Customers On A Daily Basis, Providing Them With Information And Recommendations On Produce. Excellent Customer Service Skills Are Essential To Creating A Positive Shopping Experience For Customers.
Flexibility And Adaptability: Working In The Produce Department Can Be Fast-Paced And Unpredictable. The Ideal Candidate Should Be Able To Adapt To Changing Situations And Work Well Under Pressure. Flexibility In Scheduling Is Also Important, As The Candidate May Be Required To Work Evenings, Weekends, And Holidays.
