Clinical Pharmacy Technician

Required Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent • Certification as a pharmacy technician • 1-2 years of pharmacy technician experience in a hospital or retail setting • Strong organization and problem-solving skills • Excellent customer service skills • Proficiency with computer applications • Knowledge of drug classification and drug inventory management • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Responsibilities:

1. Assist with prescription filling and dispense medications to patients.
2. Ensure accuracy of medication orders.
3. Communicate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to resolve any issues related to medication orders.
4. Maintain patient profiles, including medical history and insurance information.
5. Follow up with insurance companies regarding prior authorizations.
6. Process payment transactions for medications and other products.
7. Maintain pharmacy inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
8. Monitor expiration dates and discard outdated medications.
9. Maintain patient confidentiality by ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
10. Provide excellent customer service to patients and other healthcare professionals.
11. Assist with training and mentoring of new pharmacy technicians.
12. Participate in continuing education activities to stay abreast of new developments in the pharmacy field.
