  1. Oversee the maintenance and optimization of State Farm's mainframe infrastructure to ensure stability and efficiency.
  2. Lead and manage a team of mainframe engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure high quality work.
  3. Develop and implement strategies to improve mainframe performance and reduce downtime.
  4. Monitor and troubleshoot mainframe systems to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  5. Collaborate with other teams to integrate mainframe systems with other technologies and platforms.
  6. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in mainframe technology, and make recommendations for improvement.
  7. Develop and maintain documentation for mainframe systems and processes.
  8. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards.
  9. Communicate effectively with stakeholders and provide regular updates on mainframe infrastructure performance and projects.
  10. Mentor and train junior engineers to enhance their skills and knowledge of mainframe systems.
  11. Lead the planning and implementation of major system upgrades or migrations.
  12. Proactively identify and address potential risks or issues within the mainframe infrastructure.
  13. Collaborate with vendors and external partners to ensure the successful delivery of mainframe projects.
  14. Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures related to mainframe systems.
  15. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the mainframe team.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Experience With Ibm Mainframe Systems: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have A Deep Understanding And Hands-On Experience With Ibm Mainframe Systems, Including Z/Os, Cics, Db2, Ims, And Cobol. They Should Also Be Familiar With Mainframe Storage, Networking, And Security Protocols.

  • Strong Problem-Solving And Analytical Skills: As A Lead Infrastructure Engineer, This Person Will Be Responsible For Troubleshooting And Resolving Complex Issues Related To Mainframe Infrastructure. They Should Possess Strong Problem-Solving And Analytical Skills To Quickly Identify And Address Critical Problems.

  • Leadership And Project Management Experience: This Role Requires The Ability To Lead A Team Of Infrastructure Engineers And Manage Multiple Projects Simultaneously. The Candidate Should Have Prior Experience In A Leadership Role And Be Able To Effectively Manage Resources, Timelines, And Deliverables.

  • Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills: The Lead Infrastructure Engineer Will Be Working Closely With Cross-Functional Teams, Including Developers, System Administrators, And Business Stakeholders. Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills Are Essential To Ensure Effective Communication And Alignment Across Teams.
