  1. Conduct research and analysis to identify and monitor potential threats to public health.
  2. Develop and implement strategies to prevent and control the spread of infectious diseases.
  3. Perform laboratory tests and procedures to identify and characterize microorganisms.
  4. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all laboratory procedures and findings.
  5. Stay updated on current trends and advancements in microbiology and public health.
  6. Collaborate with other departments and agencies to coordinate response efforts during public health emergencies.
  7. Communicate findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders, including government officials and the general public.
  8. Train and educate staff and community members on best practices for preventing the spread of infectious diseases.
  9. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and procedures in the laboratory.
  10. Participate in the development and implementation of public health policies and procedures.
  11. Assist in the preparation and submission of grant proposals to secure funding for public health initiatives.
  12. Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies and ensure they are properly calibrated and stored.
  13. Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for colleagues and other professionals in the field of microbiology and public health.
  14. Adhere to ethical and professional standards in all aspects of work.
  15. Contribute to the overall mission and goals of the public health department.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Microbiology, Public Health, Or A Related Field.

  • Experience Conducting Research And Analyzing Data Related To Infectious Diseases.

  • Knowledge Of Public Health Principles And Practices, Including Disease Surveillance And Outbreak Investigation.

  • Familiarity With Laboratory Techniques And Procedures, Including Microbiological Testing And Analysis.

  • Strong Communication Skills And The Ability To Effectively Communicate Complex Scientific Information To A Variety Of Audiences.
