Job Description

As a Youth Corrections Officer, you will play a crucial role in the rehabilitation and supervision of juvenile offenders, helping them to become responsible and productive members of society.   1. Supervise and monitor the behavior and activities of juvenile offenders.
  2. Develop and implement rehabilitation plans for each individual based on their specific needs and circumstances.
  3. Maintain a safe and secure environment for both staff and youth by enforcing rules and procedures.
  4. Communicate effectively with youth, their families, and other team members to address any issues or concerns.
  5. Serve as a positive role model for youth by displaying professionalism, respect, and compassion.
  6. Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  7. Collaborate with other professionals, such as social workers and therapists, to provide comprehensive care for youth.
  8. Document all interactions and incidents accurately and in a timely manner.
  9. Attend trainings and workshops to stay informed about best practices and new developments in the field of juvenile corrections.
  10. Adhere to all state and federal laws, regulations, and policies related to the care and treatment of juvenile offenders.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, Or A Related Field.

  • Prior Experience Working With At-Risk Youth, Preferably In A Corrections Or Juvenile Justice Setting.

  • Ability To Pass A Comprehensive Background Check And Drug Test.

  • Strong Communication And Conflict Resolution Skills.

  • Certified In First Aid And Cpr, Or Willingness To Obtain Certification Within A Specified Timeframe.
