- Develop and implement mental health programs and services for the state of California.
- Provide leadership and guidance to a team of mental health professionals.
- Oversee the hiring, training, and supervision of staff.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and laws related to mental health services.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with other agencies and organizations to enhance mental health services.
- Conduct regular evaluations of programs and services to identify areas for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date on research and best practices in the field of mental health to inform program development and decision making.
- Develop and manage budgets for mental health programs and services.
- Represent the Department of Mental Health in meetings and conferences related to mental health.
- Collaborate with other departments within the state government to coordinate mental health services with other health and social services.
- Provide direct clinical services to clients as needed.
- Develop and maintain a positive and inclusive work culture within the department.
- Serve as a liaison between the Department of Mental Health and external stakeholders, such as community organizations and advocacy groups.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase access to mental health services for underserved populations.
- Ensure the confidentiality and privacy of clients and their information.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date records of program activities and outcomes.
- Stay informed on state and federal laws and regulations related to mental health and ensure compliance.
- Attend and participate in meetings with other state agencies and stakeholders to coordinate mental health services.
- Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on the progress and outcomes of mental health programs and services.
- Serve as a role model for ethical and professional conduct in all interactions with clients, staff, and stakeholders.
Doctoral Degree In Psychology From An Accredited University, With A Specialization In Clinical Psychology Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Leadership Role, Preferably As A Chief Psychologist Or Director Of A Psychology Department.
A Valid License To Practice Psychology In The State Of California, With No History Of Disciplinary Action Or Malpractice Claims.
Extensive Knowledge Of State And Federal Laws, Regulations, And Ethical Standards Related To The Practice Of Psychology.
Excellent Communication, Interpersonal, And Problem-Solving Skills, As Well As The Ability To Effectively Manage A Team And Work Collaboratively With Other Departments And Agencies.
