  1. Design and implement sophisticated telecommunications systems for the State of California.
  2. Conduct regular maintenance and updates to ensure optimal performance of the telecommunications systems.
  3. Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to identify and address any issues or concerns related to the telecommunications infrastructure.
  4. Utilize technical expertise and industry knowledge to recommend and implement improvements to the existing telecommunications systems.
  5. Monitor and analyze network performance data to identify potential areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  6. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in telecommunications technology to ensure the state's systems are at the forefront.
  7. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of the telecommunications systems and processes.
  8. Train and mentor junior engineers on best practices and procedures for managing and maintaining the telecommunications systems.
  9. Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to ensure timely and efficient resolution of any issues.
  10. Adhere to all security protocols and regulations to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the state's telecommunications systems.
  11. Act as a technical liaison between various departments and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and alignment of goals.
  12. Participate in the development and management of the telecommunications budget.
  13. Communicate updates and changes to management and stakeholders in a timely and clear manner.
  14. Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that may arise with the telecommunications systems.
  15. Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to telecommunications.
  16. Continuously evaluate and assess the effectiveness of the telecommunications systems and make recommendations for improvements as needed.
  17. Represent the state in meetings and conferences related to telecommunications infrastructure and advancements.
  18. Assist in the planning and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity plans for the telecommunications systems.
  19. Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and compatibility of the telecommunications systems with other state systems.
  20. Demonstrate a commitment to providing excellent customer service to all users of the state's telecommunications systems.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Telecommunications Engineering Or A Related Field

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Designing And Implementing Complex Telecommunications Systems

  • Strong Knowledge Of Telecommunications Technologies, Such As Voip, Mpls, And Wireless Networks

  • Experience Leading And Managing A Team Of Engineers And Technicians

  • Familiarity With Relevant Industry Standards And Regulations, Including Fcc And State-Specific Guidelines
