Job Description

As an analyst, you will play a crucial role in gathering, analyzing and interpreting geospatial data to support our environmental initiatives and decision-making processes.   1. Gather and analyze geospatial data using GIS software to support environmental initiatives and decision-making processes.
  2. Interpret and communicate complex data sets and analytical results to various stakeholders, including government officials and the public.
  3. Conduct research and stay current on environmental science and related regulations to inform data analysis and decision-making.
  4. Collaborate with team members and other departments to identify data needs and develop effective maps and visualizations.
  5. Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date GIS databases and metadata.
  6. Utilize spatial analysis techniques to identify patterns and trends in environmental data.
  7. Identify and troubleshoot data quality issues and implement solutions to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  8. Conduct field work and collect data using GPS equipment and other tools as needed.
  9. Provide technical support and training to other staff members on GIS and environmental analysis.
  10. Continuously evaluate and improve GIS processes and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  11. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to environmental protection and data management.
  12. Act as a resource and advisor to other departments on GIS and environmental matters.
  13. Represent the state in meetings and conferences related to GIS and environmental analysis.
  14. Maintain a strong commitment to environmental stewardship and contribute to the state's mission of protecting and preserving natural resources.
  15. Complete all assigned projects and tasks within established timelines and budget constraints.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Gis, Geography, Environmental Science, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In Gis And Environmental Analysis, Preferably In A Government Or Public Sector Setting.

  • Proficiency In Esri Arcgis Software And Other Gis Tools For Data Management, Analysis, And Mapping.

  • Knowledge Of Environmental Regulations And Policies, Such As Nepa And Clean Water Act, And Their Application To Gis Analysis.

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With A Diverse Team And Effectively Present Data And Findings To Stakeholders.
