This position is a vital role within our organization, responsible for overseeing the financial operations and administrative functions of the state.   1. Oversee and manage all financial operations of the state, including budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting.
  2. Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  3. Monitor and analyze financial data to identify areas of improvement and make strategic recommendations to senior management.
  4. Provide guidance and support to department heads and program managers in managing their budgets and financial resources.
  5. Supervise and mentor finance and administrative staff members, including conducting performance evaluations and providing training and development opportunities.
  6. Collaborate with other departments and agencies to develop and implement strategies for cost-saving initiatives and efficient use of resources.
  7. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders.
  8. Manage relationships with external auditors and oversee the annual audit process.
  9. Serve as a liaison to state and federal agencies for financial and administrative matters.
  10. Oversee procurement processes and ensure compliance with state and federal procurement regulations.
  11. Develop and maintain strong relationships with banking and financial institutions.
  12. Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices to continuously improve financial and administrative processes.
  13. Lead by example and promote a culture of transparency, accountability, and integrity within the Finance and Administrative Services department.
  14. Represent the state in meetings, conferences, and other events related to finance and administration.
  15. Perform any other duties as assigned by senior management.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Financial Management And/Or Administration, Preferably In A Government Or Public Sector Environment.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Accounting Principles, Budgeting, And Financial Reporting.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate And Build Relationships With Various Stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated Experience In Managing And Supervising A Team, With A Track Record Of Successful Performance Management.
