- Conduct epidemiological investigations and surveillance to identify and track the occurrence and distribution of diseases and health-related issues in the state.
- Analyze and interpret data collected from various sources, including hospitals, clinics, laboratories, and public health agencies, to identify trends and patterns.
- Provide expertise and guidance in the design and implementation of disease surveillance systems and outbreak response plans.
- Collaborate with other public health professionals and stakeholders to develop and implement disease prevention and control strategies.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including government officials, healthcare providers, and the general public through reports, presentations, and other means.
- Stay up-to-date on current epidemiological methods, practices, and trends to ensure the use of evidence-based approaches in disease surveillance and control.
- Participate in emergency preparedness activities, including responding to public health emergencies and participating in disaster drills and exercises.
- Conduct research studies to identify risk factors and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions in preventing and controlling diseases.
- Provide technical assistance and training to public health staff, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders on epidemiological methods and data analysis.
- Adhere to all ethical and confidentiality standards in the collection, analysis, and dissemination of data.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of surveillance data, research findings, and other relevant information.
- Collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies to exchange information and coordinate efforts in disease surveillance and control.
- Participate in the development and review of public health policies and regulations related to disease surveillance and control.
- Represent the Department of Public Health in professional meetings, conferences, and other forums related to epidemiology and public health.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the department or supervisor to support the overall mission and goals of the organization.
Master's Degree In Epidemiology Or Related Field From An Accredited University
At Least 3 Years Of Experience In Conducting Epidemiological Research And Analysis
Knowledge Of Statistical Software And Data Analysis Methods
Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills, Including Experience Presenting Findings To A Variety Of Audiences
Strong Understanding Of Public Health Principles And Practices, Including Disease Surveillance, Outbreak Investigation, And Prevention And Control Measures.
