- Transcribe court proceedings, depositions, and other legal proceedings accurately and in a timely manner
- Produce verbatim transcripts using stenography and computer-aided transcription software
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the legal record by following proper formatting, punctuation, and grammar rules
- Attend court sessions and accurately record all spoken words and actions
- Maintain confidentiality of all proceedings and transcripts
- Proofread and edit transcripts for accuracy and completeness
- Collaborate with judges, attorneys, and other court personnel to clarify any unclear or inaudible portions of the transcript
- Keep accurate records of all transcripts and maintain organized filing systems
- Stay updated on legal terminology and procedures to accurately transcribe complex legal proceedings
- Adhere to all court reporting standards and procedures set by the State of Florida
- Must be punctual, reliable, and able to meet strict deadlines
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and conduct at all times while representing the State of Florida in court proceedings.
Strong Knowledge Of Court Procedures And Legal Terminology: Court Reporters Must Have A Deep Understanding Of The Legal System And Be Able To Accurately Transcribe Court Proceedings, Including Complex Legal Terminology.
Certified Shorthand Reporter (Csr) Certification: This Is A Mandatory Certification For Court Reporters In The State Of Florida, Demonstrating Proficiency In Stenography And Transcription.
Experience With State-Of-The-Art Court Reporting Technology: As Technology Continues To Advance, Court Reporters Must Be Familiar With The Latest Software And Equipment Used In The Field, Such As Real-Time Reporting And Digital Recording.
Excellent Writing And Communication Skills: Court Reporters Must Have Exceptional Writing And Communication Skills In Order To Produce Accurate And Timely Transcripts And Effectively Communicate With Judges, Attorneys, And Other Court Personnel.
