You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive audits of our technology systems, identifying any vulnerabilities or risks, and implementing necessary measures to safeguard against potential threats.To excel in this role, you must possess a strong understanding of information technology, as well as a deep knowledge of criminal justice processes and procedures.   1. Conduct comprehensive audits of the state's criminal justice information systems to identify any vulnerabilities or risks.
  2. Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of existing security protocols and make recommendations for improvement.
  3. Develop and implement measures to safeguard against potential threats and ensure the integrity and security of the information systems.
  4. Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to criminal justice information technology.
  5. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements and best practices in information technology and apply them to improve the security of our systems.
  6. Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to management and other stakeholders.
  7. Conduct regular training and education sessions for staff on information technology security protocols and procedures.
  8. Monitor and track security incidents and conduct investigations as needed.
  9. Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders, such as law enforcement agencies and technology vendors.
  10. Participate in the development and implementation of new technology systems and upgrades, ensuring they meet necessary security standards.
  11. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of criminal justice processes and procedures to effectively identify potential risks and vulnerabilities.
  12. Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with audit requirements and recommendations.
  13. Serve as a subject matter expert on criminal justice information technology security matters and provide guidance to other team members.
  14. Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects effectively to meet deadlines and achieve department goals.
  15. Uphold the values and mission of the State of Florida's Department of Law Enforcement in all job duties and interactions.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Information Technology, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In It Audit, Preferably In A Criminal Justice Or Law Enforcement Environment.

  • Knowledge Of Criminal Justice Information Systems, Such As Ncic, Nlets, And Cjis Security Policies.

  • Strong Understanding Of It Controls And Risk Management Principles.

  • Certification In It Audit, Such As Cisa, Crisc, Or Cissp, Preferred.
