  1. Develop and implement strategic communication plans in alignment with the priorities and initiatives of the State of Florida government.
  2. Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the communications team, including assigning tasks and providing guidance and feedback.
  3. Serve as a liaison between the communications team and other departments within the government, ensuring clear and effective communication.
  4. Create and edit written content for various communication channels, including press releases, speeches, and social media posts.
  5. Conduct research and gather information to support communication efforts and provide recommendations for messaging and positioning.
  6. Collaborate with external partners and stakeholders to coordinate messaging and ensure consistency in communication.
  7. Monitor media coverage and public perception of the government and advise on potential issues or opportunities.
  8. Assist in crisis communication management, including drafting statements and managing media inquiries.
  9. Stay up-to-date on current events and news related to the government and provide recommendations for responsive communication.
  10. Train and mentor team members to enhance their skills and contribute to the overall success of the communications team.
  11. Plan and execute public events and campaigns to promote government initiatives and engage with the community.
  12. Maintain a high level of professionalism and represent the government in a positive and professional manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In A Communications Role, Preferably In Government Or A Related Field.

  • Demonstrated Experience In Developing And Executing Strategic Communications Plans.

  • Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills, Including The Ability To Effectively Communicate Complex Information To Diverse Audiences.

  • Knowledge Of And Experience With Media Relations, Crisis Communications, And Social Media Management.
