  1. Enforce Traffic Laws: As a Trooper, you will be responsible for enforcing traffic laws on Florida's roadways to ensure the safety of all drivers and passengers.
  2. Respond to Emergencies: You will be expected to respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations, including accidents, disasters, and other incidents that occur on the highways.
  3. Conduct Investigations: Troopers are responsible for conducting thorough investigations into traffic accidents, crimes, and other incidents that occur on the highways.
  4. Maintain Public Safety: You will be expected to monitor traffic patterns and take appropriate action to prevent accidents and maintain public safety.
  5. Provide Assistance: As a member of the Florida Highway Patrol, you will be expected to provide assistance and support to motorists in need, including changing tires, providing first aid, and directing traffic.
  6. Conduct Traffic Stops: You will be responsible for conducting traffic stops to check for violations, issue warnings and citations, and make arrests when necessary.
  7. Maintain Equipment: Troopers are responsible for maintaining their equipment, including vehicles, uniforms, and weapons, to ensure they are always prepared for duty.
  8. Uphold Standards of Integrity: As a representative of the Florida Highway Patrol, you are expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in all interactions with the public.
  9. Complete Reports: You will be responsible for completing detailed and accurate reports of all incidents and activities, both written and electronic.
  10. Participate in Training: Troopers are expected to participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on laws, policies, and procedures related to their role.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Education And Experience: Applicants Must Possess A High School Diploma Or Equivalent And Have At Least Two Years Of Law Enforcement Experience.

  • Physical Fitness: Candidates Must Pass A Physical Fitness Test, Which Includes A 1.5 Mile Run, Sit-Ups, Push-Ups, And A 300 Meter Sprint.

  • Law Enforcement Certification: Applicants Must Have Completed A Certified Law Enforcement Academy And Possess A Valid Florida Law Enforcement Certification.

  • Background Check: All Candidates Must Pass A Thorough Background Investigation, Including A Criminal History Check, Credit Check, And Driving Record Check.

  • Driver's License: A Valid Florida Driver's License Is Required, And Candidates Must Have A Good Driving Record With No More Than Six Points In The Last Three Years.
