In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the security of our state's information technology systems and networks.   1. Develop and implement comprehensive IT security policies, procedures, and protocols for the State of Florida's information technology systems and networks.
  2. Monitor and assess the state's IT infrastructure for potential vulnerabilities and security breaches.
  3. Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify and address any security gaps.
  4. Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and standards.
  5. Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of security systems and software.
  6. Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats and trends, and make recommendations for improvements to security measures.
  7. Train and educate employees on security best practices and procedures.
  8. Respond to security incidents and conduct thorough investigations to determine the cause and prevent future occurrences.
  9. Manage and maintain relationships with external security vendors and contractors.
  10. Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans in the event of a security breach or disaster.
  11. Prepare and present reports to upper management on the state's IT security posture.
  12. Stay informed about new and emerging technologies and evaluate their potential impact on the state's IT security.
  13. Lead and mentor a team of IT security professionals.
  14. Collaborate with other IT managers to ensure security measures are integrated into all aspects of the state's technology systems and projects.
  15. Represent the state at conferences and events related to IT security and networking.
  16. Ensure compliance with state and federal budget and procurement processes.
  17. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Information Technology, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In It Security Roles, With At Least 2 Years In A Managerial Position.

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (Cissp) Or Other Relevant Security Certifications.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Security Frameworks And Standards Such As Nist, Iso 27001, And Pci-Dss.

  • Experience With Risk Assessment And Management, Incident Response, And Security Audits.
