Job Description

  1. Conduct intake and assessment interviews with juvenile offenders to determine their needs and risks.
  2. Develop and implement individualized case management plans for each assigned juvenile, including identifying appropriate services and resources.
  3. Monitor and enforce court-ordered conditions of probation, including home visits, drug testing, and community service.
  4. Provide guidance and support to juveniles and their families, addressing behavioral, emotional, and social issues.
  5. Collaborate with community agencies and service providers to ensure juveniles receive necessary support and resources.
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and reports, documenting all interactions and progress.
  7. Conduct regular progress reviews with supervising officers and court officials, providing updates on each juvenile's progress and challenges.
  8. Attend court hearings and provide testimony as needed, advocating for the best interests of the juveniles under your supervision.
  9. Serve as a positive role model and mentor for at-risk youth, promoting positive behavior and decision-making.
  10. Stay informed on current laws, policies, and procedures related to juvenile justice and probation, and adhere to all ethical standards and codes of conduct.
  11. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance job knowledge and skills.
  12. Maintain a safe and secure environment for juveniles, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being at all times.
  13. Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues, stakeholders, and the general public, representing the department and its mission positively.
  14. Promote and uphold the values and goals of the department, working towards the successful rehabilitation and reintegration of juvenile offenders into society.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of Two Years Of Experience Working With Juveniles In A Probation Or Related Setting.

  • Knowledge Of The Juvenile Justice System, Laws, And Procedures.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Work With Diverse Populations, Including Juveniles, Families, And Community Agencies.

  • Ability To Pass A Thorough Background Check, Including Criminal Record And Drug Screening.
