- Develop and implement nutrition programs and policies to promote healthy lifestyles and prevent disease within the State of Hawaii.
- Conduct research and analyze data on public health issues related to nutrition to inform program development and decision-making.
- Collaborate with community organizations, healthcare providers, and government agencies to address nutrition-related health concerns and implement interventions.
- Provide nutrition education and counseling to individuals and groups in various settings, such as schools, community centers, and healthcare facilities.
- Stay current on emerging trends and best practices in public health nutrition and integrate them into program initiatives.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with stakeholders to support the implementation and evaluation of nutrition programs.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition programs and make recommendations for improvements.
- Develop and deliver presentations and workshops to promote nutrition education and awareness.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on nutrition-related topics and provide guidance and support to other health professionals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and reports on program activities and outcomes.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards in all aspects of work, including confidentiality and cultural sensitivity.
- Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and growth in the field of public health nutrition.
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, and other departmental activities as required.
- Represent the State of Hawaii at conferences and events related to nutrition and public health.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor or department leadership.
Bachelor's Degree In Nutrition, Dietetics, Or A Related Field
Registered Dietitian (Rd) Or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (Rdn) Certification
Knowledge And Understanding Of Public Health Principles And Practices
Experience In Developing And Implementing Nutrition Education Programs
Familiarity With Local And State Regulations And Policies Related To Nutrition And Food Safety
