  1. Conduct regular inspections of traffic signal systems to ensure they are functioning properly and meeting state standards.
  2. Identify and report any malfunctions or safety hazards related to traffic signals.
  3. Collaborate with other departments and agencies to coordinate traffic signal operations during special events or emergencies.
  4. Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  5. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in traffic signal technology.
  6. Provide technical expertise and support to other team members and stakeholders.

  11. Attend training sessions and seminars to enhance knowledge and skills related to traffic signal systems.
  12. Collaborate with contractors and vendors to ensure quality and timely completion of repairs and installations.
  13. Monitor budget and resources allocated for traffic signal maintenance and make recommendations for cost-saving measures.
  14. Represent the State of Hawaii in a professional and positive manner at all times.
  15. Uphold the mission and values of the State of Hawaii in all job duties and interactions.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience Working As A Traffic Signal Technician Or Inspector.

  • Familiarity With The Manual On Uniform Traffic Control Devices (Mutcd) And Other Relevant Traffic Signal Standards And Regulations.

  • Knowledge Of Electrical And Traffic Signal Systems, Including Wiring, Components, And Troubleshooting Techniques.

  • Ability To Read And Interpret Construction Plans, Specifications, And Technical Documents Related To Traffic Signals.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Coordinate With Contractors, Engineers, And Other Stakeholders During Inspections And Maintenance Activities.
