
Building/Grounds Maintenance Worker

- Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks on buildings and grounds, including but not limited to landscaping, cleaning, and minor repairs.
- Monitor and inspect building systems and equipment to identify any issues or necessary repairs.
- Ensure all buildings and grounds are compliant with safety regulations and codes.
- Respond promptly to any maintenance requests or emergencies.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate maintenance schedules and tasks.
- Maintain an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Follow established procedures for the safe handling and storage of cleaning and maintenance chemicals.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Typically Required For A Building/Grounds Maintenance Worker Position At The State Of Illinois. This Demonstrates A Basic Level Of Education And Ability To Follow Instructions And Complete Tasks.
Prior Experience In Maintenance Or Related Field: Previous Experience In A Maintenance Or Related Field, Such As Custodial Work Or Construction, Is Often Preferred For This Position. This Shows A Level Of Familiarity With Tools, Equipment, And Common Maintenance Tasks.
