- Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy for the State of Illinois, aligned with the organization's overall goals and objectives.
- Oversee the management and maintenance of all IT systems, ensuring they are secure, reliable, and cost-effective.
- Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, providing guidance and support to drive high performance and foster a culture of innovation.
- Collaborate with other department heads to identify IT needs and prioritize projects based on business priorities.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and trends, and make recommendations for their implementation to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Establish and maintain strong partnerships with external vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and managing relationships to ensure quality services are delivered within budget.
- Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring resources are allocated appropriately and expenditures are within budgetary constraints.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to IT security, data privacy, and information management.
- Serve as a liaison between the IT department and other departments, communicating technical information in a clear and non-technical manner.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and business continuity strategies to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of critical services.
- Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of IT systems and processes, making recommendations for improvements and implementing necessary changes.
- Represent the State of Illinois in meetings and conferences related to IT and digital transformation, promoting the organization's vision and mission.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the IT department, encouraging employees to expand their skills and knowledge.
- Prepare and present reports to senior management and other stakeholders, providing updates on IT projects, initiatives, and performance metrics.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive information and data.
Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Information Technology, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In A Leadership Role Within The It Industry.
Extensive Knowledge Of Content Management Systems (Cms) And Experience With Implementation And Maintenance.
Proven Track Record Of Successfully Managing Large-Scale Projects And Budgets.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Diverse Teams And Stakeholders.
