  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy for the State of Illinois, aligned with the organization's overall goals and objectives.
  2. Oversee the management and maintenance of all IT systems, ensuring they are secure, reliable, and cost-effective.
  3. Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, providing guidance and support to drive high performance and foster a culture of innovation.
  4. Collaborate with other department heads to identify IT needs and prioritize projects based on business priorities.
  5. Stay current with emerging technologies and trends, and make recommendations for their implementation to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  6. Establish and maintain strong partnerships with external vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and managing relationships to ensure quality services are delivered within budget.
  7. Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring resources are allocated appropriately and expenditures are within budgetary constraints.
  8. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to IT security, data privacy, and information management.
  9. Serve as a liaison between the IT department and other departments, communicating technical information in a clear and non-technical manner.
  10. Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and business continuity strategies to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of critical services.
  11. Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of IT systems and processes, making recommendations for improvements and implementing necessary changes.
  12. Represent the State of Illinois in meetings and conferences related to IT and digital transformation, promoting the organization's vision and mission.
  13. Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the IT department, encouraging employees to expand their skills and knowledge.
  14. Prepare and present reports to senior management and other stakeholders, providing updates on IT projects, initiatives, and performance metrics.
  15. Maintain a high level of confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive information and data.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Information Technology, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In A Leadership Role Within The It Industry.

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Content Management Systems (Cms) And Experience With Implementation And Maintenance.

  • Proven Track Record Of Successfully Managing Large-Scale Projects And Budgets.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Diverse Teams And Stakeholders.
