Job Description

  1. Oversee the daily operations of the correctional center, including managing staff and inmate activities.
  2. Ensure that all state and federal regulations are adhered to in the operation of the facility.
  3. Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and inmates.
  4. Supervise and evaluate staff performance, providing guidance and support as needed.
  5. Conduct regular inspections of the facility to ensure compliance with safety and security standards.
  6. Collaborate with other department heads and officials to coordinate and implement programs and initiatives aimed at promoting rehabilitation and reducing recidivism.
  7. Maintain accurate records and reports on the operations and activities of the correctional center.
  8. Manage budget and resources effectively to ensure efficient operation of the facility.
  9. Address and resolve any issues or conflicts within the facility, including inmate grievances and staff concerns.
  10. Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and advancements in correctional practices, and implement them as appropriate.
  11. Foster a positive and respectful work environment that promotes teamwork, communication, and professional growth.
  12. Serve as a representative of the Department of Corrections in public and community events, promoting the mission and values of the organization.
  13. Ensure that all staff are trained and knowledgeable in emergency procedures and protocols.
  14. Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions to keep staff informed and up-to-date on policies, procedures, and any changes.
  15. Uphold and promote ethical standards and professionalism in all aspects of the job.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Correctional Facility, With At Least 2 Years In A Supervisory Or Management Role.

  • Knowledge Of State And Federal Laws And Regulations Related To The Operation Of Correctional Facilities.

  • Strong Leadership And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Manage And Mentor A Diverse Team Of Staff Members.

  • Ability To Make Sound Decisions Under Pressure And Handle Difficult Situations With Tact And Professionalism.
