  4. Collaborate with other government agencies, healthcare organizations, and community stakeholders to implement health protection measures.
  5. Stay current with local, state, and federal regulations related to public health and ensure compliance.

  14. Ensure the budget for the public health protection department is managed efficiently and effectively.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In Public Health Or A Related Field: The Assistant Commissioner Of Health Protection Must Possess A Graduate Degree In Public Health, Epidemiology, Or A Related Field To Demonstrate A Strong Understanding Of Health Protection Principles And Practices.

  • Extensive Experience In Health Protection: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 7-10 Years Of Experience In Health Protection, Including Experience In Managing Public Health Emergencies, Developing And Implementing Health Protection Policies, And Working With Local And State Health Agencies.

  • Leadership And Management Skills: The Assistant Commissioner Should Have Proven Leadership Skills, Including The Ability To Manage And Motivate A Team, Build Partnerships, And Effectively Communicate With Stakeholders At All Levels. Experience In Budget Management And Strategic Planning Is Also Essential.

  • Knowledge Of State And Federal Laws And Regulations: The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of State And Federal Laws And Regulations Related To Health Protection, Including Infectious Disease Control, Environmental Health, And Emergency Preparedness.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Assistant Commissioner Will Be Responsible For Representing The State On Health Protection Issues, Both Internally And Externally. Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills, As Well As The Ability To Build Relationships And Collaborate With Diverse Groups, Are Essential For Success In This Role.
