Job Description

  1. Provide direct occupational therapy services to patients of all ages and abilities under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
  2. Collaborate with the Occupational Therapist to develop treatment plans and goals for patients.
  3. Implement evidence-based interventions and techniques to help patients improve their daily living skills and reach their full potential.
  4. Monitor and evaluate patients' progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
  5. Document all patient evaluations, progress notes, and treatment outcomes accurately and in a timely manner.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
  7. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all aspects of patient care.
  8. Comply with state and federal regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures.
  9. Attend and actively participate in team meetings and continuing education opportunities.
  10. Promote a positive and welcoming environment for patients, families, and colleagues.
  11. Demonstrate a compassionate and empathetic approach in all interactions with patients and their families.
  12. Continuously seek opportunities for personal and professional growth to enhance job performance and contribute to the overall success of the team.
  13. Adhere to safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
  14. Maintain accurate and up-to-date knowledge of current trends and advancements in occupational therapy.
  15. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program: Candidates Must Have Successfully Completed An Accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program To Be Eligible For The Position. This Ensures That They Have Received Proper Education And Training In The Field Of Occupational Therapy.

  • Certification From The National Board For Certification In Occupational Therapy (Nbcot): Candidates Must Hold A Current And Active Certification From The Nbcot. This Certification Demonstrates That They Have Met National Standards For Competency And Have Passed A Rigorous Examination.

  • Licensure By The Minnesota Department Of Health: Candidates Must Be Licensed By The Minnesota Department Of Health To Practice As A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant In The State. This Ensures That They Have Met The State's Requirements For Practicing In This Role.

  • Experience In A Clinical Setting: Preference May Be Given To Candidates Who Have Previous Experience Working As A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant In A Clinical Setting. This Demonstrates Their Ability To Apply Their Knowledge And Skills In A Practical Setting.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Candidates Should Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Clients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals. This Includes The Ability To Listen Attentively, Communicate Clearly, And Work Well In A Team Environment.
