Communications Manager

- Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to effectively engage and inform the public about the goals, initiatives, and achievements of the state agency.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all media inquiries and coordinate responses with appropriate agency personnel.
- Create and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other communications materials to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of information.
- Collaborate with agency leadership to develop key messaging and talking points for various communication channels, including social media, website, and public events.
- Monitor media coverage and public perception of the agency and provide recommendations for proactive communication efforts.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including community organizations, advocacy groups, and government agencies, to foster partnerships and promote the agency’s mission.
- Oversee the production of high-quality and visually appealing communication materials, such as brochures, videos, and presentations.
- Ensure all communication efforts comply with relevant laws, regulations, and agency policies.
- Create and maintain a crisis communication plan and serve as the agency’s spokesperson in times of crisis.
- Analyze and report on the effectiveness of communication strategies and make recommendations for improvement.
- Continuously stay informed about industry trends and best practices in communication and public relations to enhance the agency’s communication efforts.
- Manage a team of communications professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to ensure their professional growth and development.
- Represent the agency at public events, conferences, and other community engagements to promote the agency’s mission and values.
- Collaborate with other departments and teams within the agency to ensure consistency and alignment of messaging.
- Maintain a positive and professional image of the agency at all times and uphold its values and standards.
Bachelor's Degree In Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Communications, Preferably In A Government Or Public Sector Setting.
Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills, Including Experience In Crafting Press Releases, Speeches, And Other Communication Materials.
Demonstrated Experience In Managing And Coordinating Communication Strategies And Campaigns, Including Social Media And Digital Platforms.
Strong Organizational And Project Management Skills, With The Ability To Multitask And Prioritize Projects Effectively.
