  1. Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities, utilizing behavior modification techniques to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors.
  2. Develop and implement individualized behavior plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including the individual, their caregivers, and other professionals.
  3. Monitor and document progress towards behavior goals, and make necessary adjustments to behavior plans as needed.
  4. Utilize effective communication skills to build positive relationships with individuals, their families, and other team members.
  5. Serve as a role model and mentor for other direct support professionals, providing guidance and support in the implementation of behavior plans.
  6. Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals at all times, following all safety protocols and reporting any concerns or incidents.
  7. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current on best practices in behavior modification and developmental disabilities.
  8. Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including progress notes and incident reports.
  9. Collaborate with community resources and agencies to provide comprehensive support and services to individuals with developmental disabilities.
  10. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by promoting teamwork, open communication, and respect for individuals with developmental disabilities.
  11. Adhere to all state and federal regulations and agency policies and procedures.
  12. Continuously evaluate and improve the effectiveness of behavior modification techniques and interventions.
  13. Uphold the mission, vision, and values of the State of Minnesota in all interactions and responsibilities.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Psychology, Social Work, Or A Related Field.

  • At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working With Individuals With Developmental Disabilities Or Mental Health Needs.

  • Completion Of State-Approved Training Programs In Behavior Modification And Crisis Intervention.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of Person-Centered Planning And Positive Behavior Support Principles.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Clients, Families, And Interdisciplinary Teams.
